All strategies are important when training and developing a great Security Guard; the one that is often most forgotten is saying “Thank you”.

Saying thank you to a good security guard accomplishes two things. First, it shows that you have recognized the guard’s specific accomplishments, behaviors, or actions. Second, saying thank you also shows your appreciation for those same
accomplishments.

Benefits of Thanking a Good Security Guard

Outside of being the right thing to do, there
are many benefits to saying thank you. Here
are just a few:

  1. Higher morale. Being a security
guard can be a thankless job
    sometimes. Recognizing and
    acknowledging a guard’s work will
    engage and motivate.
  2. Improved relationships.
    Improving relationships between a
good security guard and clients, or
    your coworkers, is essential
    in providing great service. When
there is a good relationship guards are
more likely to go above and beyond
    the call of duty.
  3. Improved bottom line for all. By
    recognizing and showing appreciation
to a good security guard, you are
creating a win-win situation for all
    parties. Guards will become better
    ambassadors for employees and
    employers.

ASP understands the importance of delivering quality customer service and the positive impact that it can have on our brand and our clients brand as well.

Whether an employee is providing security services or customer support services, the priority is to do so in a professional and respectful manner. Every customer should feel like a V.I.P. – a Very Individual Person. When a customer feels like an individual, they are more likely to perceive their experience as unique and special. It can be a challenge in busy airports and sports arena environments to individualize every interaction in a special way, however; that should always be our goal.

Customers are typically a little stressed on their travel or event day, they may have started their day in a different time zone and are fatigued, frustrated with line-ups for processing, etc. It is during these moments, if you interact with each customer as a V.I.P. that it can make a difference in a very positive way.

ASP has received many letters and emails from customers and our clients that highlight a particular interaction with an ASP employee that impressed them so much, they took time to write a letter or email to recognize the employee.

Our company continues to grow as a result of the quality of service our existing employees provide every day. Every employee plays an important role every time you wear the ASP uniform.

Thanks to all of our employees for delivering great service over the busy summer period.

Congratulate Tim Campbell, Site Supervisor

Tim Campbell has recently been promoted to Site Supervisor of
the famous and historic St. Lawrence Market, in Toronto’s bustling downtown.

The St. Lawrence Market was voted “The #1 Market in the World” by National Geographic. Thus, it is easy to say this is one of our most prestigious CIC division clients we have been fortunate enough to acquire in July 2018.

Mr. Campbell was an easy pick to lead this busy site, due to his Security Specialist background from Union Station, previous employers, and his outgoing personality. Tim
has shown great leadership through his process improvements, building client and tenant relationships, team building, and loyalty to both the Client and ASP His initiatives and forward-thinking attitude allowed him to challenge the status quo, provide the Client with much improved services, and ultimately reflecting himself and ASP as a second-to-none service provider for the St. Lawrence Market. I would like to personally thank Mr. Campbell for being an integral part of the team and truly making a difference. Keep up the great work, Tim!

As part of our Employee Excellence Program, two employees were recognized for their efforts in enhancing the customer experience in August.

With all that life throws our way, ASP appreciates the efforts made by our Team to attend work on a regular and consistent basis. This summer, a Perfect Attendance Contest ran in July and August.

Efforts made by our team to keep passengers moving were recognized by the GTAA and other stakeholders several times throughout the busy summer months.

In August, we took the opportunity to award Employee of the Month to an Agent that not only keeps our passengers moving but does it with a smile.

We are at once delighted and disheartened to announce that Piro Koco has retired from ASP on September 13, 2018.

Piro worked with ASP for over 14 years as Access Control Officer at Toronto Pearson International Airport. Piro has been a tremendous employee with a perfect attendance for past 10 years.

He plans on spending his time with his family here in Canada and also travelling back home to Albania every year. We all wish Piro the very best and he will be greatly missed by us all!
