Please join us in congratulating Garinder and Amanpreet Grewal, who got married on Sunday the 5th July 2020. It was a simple ceremony in front of close friends and relatives.

It all happened so quickly, but we want to wish Garinder and Amanpreet our heartfelt congratulations on starting their new life together.

Teresia Mungai has worked at Calgary International Airport (YYC) for the past 12 years. She joined ASP in 2018 as Access Control Guard. Teresia is a hard-working employee who finds joy in meeting people, offering customer service and security services at the airport. We thank all the heroes of ASP who are taking an extra step to create a positive environment in this challenging time of the

pandemic, bringing our people together and providing a quality service.

As a security guard, my Boss said my job is to watch the office.

I’m on Season 6 so far, and not sure what this has to do with security.

What do you call security guards working outside Samsung shops?

Guardians of the Galaxy.

I went on a job interview for a security guard. After spending 12 hours in the waiting room…

…they hired me.

I used to sell security alarms door to door, and I was really good at it.

If no one was home, I would just leave a brochure on the kitchen table.

Airport security asked me if I’ve seen anything unusual

…I just paid $18 for a pop and a ham sandwich…Let’s start with that!

Hardeep Khaneja is the definition of a well-rounded A.S.P. Incorporated employee. Hardeep came to ASP back in 2007 when he began his career as a floater in the Residential division. He worked at various sites such as Country Club properties, Wyldewood, Forestlane and Main Square. This is where Hardeep truly started growing a passion for helping people in the security industry.

Hardeep Khaneja

Hardeep moved to a site supervisor for a four-building community named Queen’s Court housing about 3000 tenants. Hardeep really shined as a supervisor in this location for 3 years and showed the characteristics that earned him the supervisor position for future contracts.

From 2011-2017 Hardeep had full control over one of our high-end sites called Ovation in Mississauga. Hardeep did everything from on-site interviews and managing last minute book offs to building positive relationships with every tenant at his building. At this point ASP knew we had something special in Hardeep and needed to put him in a centralized position where he could develop relationships with the complete Residential and Commercial division. Hardeep is currently leading the Residential/Commercial scheduling team where he demonstrates everyday his site knowledge, positive demeanor and security experience.

If you ask Hardeep why he stays with ASP and the security industry he will tell you that he loves being an instrumental piece in the success and growth of A.S.P. Incorporated over the past 12 years. Hardeep will continue to do great things at ASP

I would like to introduce Sherrie Storimans.  She has been an integral part of the accounting department since May 2017.

Utilizing her skills and experience, Sherrie is responsible for the payroll for ASP, which includes 2,000 individual payments bi-weekly.  It is no easy feat, but she captures all the nuances that exist with our unique operations, in addition to employee requests for vacation payouts or other changes.

With the COVID-19 impact, Sherrie has also needed to switch gears to ensure the employee Record of Employments are issued on a timely basis.  Thanks for the support from Giselle Lopes and HR in getting this accomplished on a timely basis.  Sherrie, I want to give a special thanks to all that you have accomplished.

International Women’s Day was on March 8th and I felt that our Spring newsletter was the perfect time to show our appreciation and celebrate the women within our ASP family.

The photos with this article highlight just a few of the many women and the various roles they play within the company.  As of last month, we had 1759 employees across the organization, of which 835 are female (almost 50%).  We have also seen an increase in the number of females in our management level positions; we currently have 1 V.P., 1 Director and 11 female front-line managers.

ASP values workplace diversity and gender equality, which is evident in the number of women in our organization and the varying roles they occupy, ranging from Canine Handler, Security Specialist, Customer Service Agent, Resource Planner, HR Administrator, Recruiter to Security Guards, which is extremely impressive in a traditionally male-dominated industry.

Celebrating International Women’s Day is a great way to make our workplace and employment brand more inclusive.  With the support of many across the organization, we have created a collage of the many remarkable and talented women within ASP  and we wanted to take this opportunity to recognize the contributions that they have made to the company and our business.

As a woman and a member of the Senior Management Team, I am proud to work for a company that values gender diversity.  As a company and as individuals, we must continue to champion and promote workplace diversity and gender equality, not just because it is the fair and right thing to do, but because gender diversity has a positive impact on the success of the company.  According to McKinsey study, the most gender-diverse companies are 21% more likely to experience above-average profitability.

I wanted to take the opportunity to thank one of my peers for all his help and support over the last several months. I wanted to say a huge thank you to Paul Parkinson.

Paul is an integral part of the organization and I can honestly say that he has been a big influence on me and has gone way above and beyond to support me and my needs, regardless if they are in his job scope or not. Paul is one of those people that will go beyond his own duties for the organization and will truly help an individual when needed.

Paul, I know I have said thank you many times for all the support and assistance, but I wanted to say it one more time, as it has been invaluable knowledge that you have provided me in many ways. So again, thank you!
